Khyber Agency recorded 159 points claiming first position for the third consecutive times. Khyber Agency won Archery, Basketball, Football, Netball, Table Tennis, Body Building, Kabaddi, Cricket and Feetball. Mohmand Agency got runners-up trophy by securing 79 points after winning badminton, cycling, weight lighting, wrestling, tug of war athletic besides winning four female games comprising volleyball, badminton, athletic and tug of war.
Bajaur Agency got third position by securing 54 points after winning athletic, weight lighting, tug of war and remained runners-up in badminton, cycling and table tennis (female). FR Kohat got 39 points securing fourth position after winning hockey and got runners-up trophies in basketball, netball, tug of war, rugby.
South Wazirstan got 30 points securing fifth position after winning rugby, taekwondo and wushu. FR Dera Ismail and FR Lakki were tied with 14 points each after winning two silver medals. Dera Ismail Khan got two silvers in wushu and taekwondo while FR Lakki Marwat got two silver medals in athletics and kabaddi. FR Bannu won the volleyball event by securing 10 and got seventh position. Speaking on this occasion, Federal State Minister SAFRON Galib Khan Wazir said that sport is healthy activity and holding of such like event would actually defeating terrorism and militancy. He said it is the federal govt policy to upgrade the exiting sports facilities in all across FATA besides developing new infrastructure so that to facilitate talented youth of FATA.
In the last event Hockey FR Kohat defeated Khyber Agency on sudden-death penalty shoot-out. Both the teams were tied a goal-less draw and were awarded five each penalties but after 5 attempts both were tied and in a sudden-death FR Kohat won the battle. In the cricket event Khyber Agency defeated Kurram Agency by five wickets. Kurram made a target of 140 runs for the loss of eight wickets and in replay Khyber Agency chased the target for loss of five wickets. The ceremony was also address by Secretary Administration, Mian Muhammad who highlighted various steps being taken for the promotion of sports and youth activities.
